Queer in Cyber is a community service of Nearshore Cyber. Its purpose is to illuminate the intersection of queerness and the cybersecurity profession. It is produced by and for LGBTQI+ and non-gender-conforming people who work in the industry.

The Queer in Cyber Show explores the intersection between the LGBTQI+ and non-gender conforming communities and cybersecurity. In this episode, we discuss the similarities between the hacker ethos and queerness, as well as the historical origins and trajectories of cyber and queer culture. We also delve into themes such as what it means to be human, the ability to change and who has the right to control that change, transgressing boundaries, revolution and counter-revolution, the Cassandra problem, and the triumph of love and friendship against certain doom. We analyze various works of art and their relevance to cyber and queer communities. The conversation explores the intersection of queerness and cybersecurity in various works of art and media. We discuss cybersecurity themes in TV shows like Sense8, movies like Ocean's 8, and the influence of Alice in Wonderland and Andy Warhol's art on the hacking community. The episode also touches on the portrayal of queerness in films like The Imitation Game and V for Vendetta.
